Resolution Approving a Bid for the OSLAD Grant Project for the Mill Creek Greenway Forest Preserve Archery Range

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and desirable for the Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois to authorize bids for the construction of a new entry road, parking lot and archery range at Mill Creek Greenway Forest Preserve; and

WHEREAS, The District received a Open Space and Land Acquisition Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for the Mill Creek Greenway Forest Preserve Archery Range Project; and

WHEREAS, the project includes the addition of a new entry road, parking lot, stormwater detention basin, restored prairie, raised archery platform, shelters, restroom and 3 archery ranges; and

WHEREAS, the qualified lowest bid for the project was received from Evans & Sons, Inc. totaling $1,174,046.70. Additionally, the District is budgeting a contingency of $43,557.61 for unanticipated additional costs that may arise during construction for a total project amount of $1,217,604.31.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners of Kane County, Kane County Illinois, that the qualified lowest bid received from Evans & Son, Inc. for the Mill Creek Greenway Forest Preserve Archery Range OSLAD Grant Project for $1,174,046.70 plus a contingency of $43,557.61 for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,217,604.31 be, and hereby is, accepted and approved.

APPROVED AND PASSED on this 14th day of January, 2025.
