AUTHORIZING FY2026 BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO ACCOUNT FOR REMAINING FUNDS FOR THE FY2025 DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY GRANT FOR THE KANE COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board passed Ordinance 25-387, adopting the Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Appropriations and Budget; and
WHEREAS, in Fiscal Year 2025, the Kane County State's Attorney's Office was awarded a grant from the State of Illinois through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, in the amount of One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) of State funds, available for reimbursement under an agreed budget ("DCEO Grant"); and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 25-082, the Kane County Board approved an adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2025 budget in connection with the DCEO Grant award received by the Kane County State's Attorney's Office; and
WHEREAS, the grant agreement for the DCEO Grant expires on June 30, 2026, and approximately Sixty-Three Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Three Dollars ($63,723.00) from the DCEO Grant award remains available for spending in Fiscal Year 2026; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment, in accordance with 55 ILCS 5/6-1003, is required to allow for all remaining funds related to the DCEO Grant to be spent before the expiration of the grant agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the following adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget:
