WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Public Health has made grants available to the Kane County Health Department for epidemiologic investigations, infection control and outbreak response efforts for respiratory diseases and other public health significant events; and.

WHEREAS, funding may be used to support numerous response activities, including epidemiology, testing, infection control education and response, mitigation, resource coordination, communications, and other related activities; and

WHEREAS, grant funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health to continue case investigation and outbreak response efforts for respiratory diseases and other public health significant events has been awarded to the Health Department in the amount of One Million dollars $1,000,000.00); and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department will use the RSORG grant funding for ongoing training, outreach and support of infection prevention and control efforts in healthcare facilities; and

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department will use the RSORG-25 grant funding for six full time positions to carry out epidemiologic investigations, infection control and outbreak response efforts which includes outreach, training and infection prevention and control efforts in long term care facilities; and.

WHEREAS, the RSORG grant serves to engage high risk congregate care settings in Kane County to ensure that all are prepared and appropriately responding to respiratory illness/outbreaks and are implementing prevention measures to limit severe disease outcomes; so

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to enter into said grant agreement with the Illinois Department of Public Health.
