AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH JEG 360, LLC, FOR CONSULTING SERVICES AS AN ECONOMIC ADVISOR FOR KANE COUNTY

WHEREAS, Kane County Development and Community Services is seeking to authorize renewal of a contract with JEG 360, LLC, a consulting firm, to serve as an economic development advisor for Kane County including participating in the Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership, the development of a strategic economic development plan, and reviewing the recommendations for the formation and launch of a public/private partnership economic development organization for Kane County; and
WHEREAS, Kane County documented the need to undertake a strategic economic development plan in its application to the State of Illinois RISE Economic Development Planning Grant Program, where from this program funds were awarded to local governments, and regional economic development organizations to create or update regional plans to accelerate economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Kane County has been awarded $150,000.00 (One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars) in funding by the State of Illinois RISE Economic Development Planning Grant Program to create a strategic economic development plan for Kane County; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Board approved the initial contract with JEG 360, LLC in Resolution 23-253, which had an initial 1 (one) year term and allowed the parties to renew the agreement annually for up to 2 (two) additional years; and
WHEREAS, JEG 360, LLC, has utilized their extensive economic development experience as an advisor to Kane County staff in guiding the economic development strategic plan, responding to regional and federal economic initiatives, and assisting in pursing economic development opportunities in Kane County; and
