AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO MASTER POWER SUPPLY AGREEMENT FOR THE KANE COUNTY ELECTRICAL AGGREGATION PROGRAM (RFP #25-035-TK)

WHEREAS, the Illinois Power Agency Act (20 ILCS 3855/1-92) addresses the Aggregation of Electric Load by Municipalities, Townships, and Counties; and
WHEREAS, to receive the best price for electrical power for residents, the Kane County Board adopted Ordinance No. 14-234 in August 2024, an opt-out Electrical Aggregation program for residents and small commercial retail customers in the unincorporated areas of Kane County; and
WHEREAS, Kane County issued RFP #25-035-TK for ICC Certified Retail Electric Suppliers to submit proposals for Municipal Aggregated Electric Supply and electric-related services; and
WHEREAS, Kane County staff and Kane County's electrical power consultant have reviewed responses to RFP #25-035-TK and recommend an award to MC Squared Energy Services, LLC for a twenty-four (24) month period; and
WHEREAS, RFP #25-035-TK provides that the corporate authorities of Kane County, the Kane County Board, shall determine the term of the agreement for Electric Aggregation Program services; and
WHEREAS, to effectuate this award an Extended Term Agreement Amendment is attached hereto for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that an award to MC Squared Energy Services, LLC for a twenty-four (24) month period per RFP #25-035-TK (Electric Aggregation Program) is hereby approved and the Kane County Board Chairman is authorized to execute the attached Extended Term Agreement Amendment to effectuate the award.
