Acceptance and Use of Trust Donation Made to Animal Control

WHEREAS, the Kane County Animal Control (KCAC) Department received a check from the Sharon K. Zagorce estate providing a gift to Kane County Animal Control advising that this gift is unrestricted and can be used for any purposes in connection with animal control in the amount of $10,000; and
WHEREAS, KCAC plans to utilize this gift to improve the dog water fountain station at its facility; and
WHEREAS, a budget adjustment is required in the FY26 budget to allow KCAC to expend the$10,000 to improve the dog water fountain station; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 6-1003 of the Counties Code (55 ILCS 5/6-1003), after adoption of the county budget, additional appropriations to meet an immediate emergency and transfers of appropriations affecting personnel and capital may be made at any meeting of the County Board following a two-thirds vote of all members constituting such board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorizes Kane County Animal Control to make a budget adjustment for an additional appropriation of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for the improvement of the dog water fountain station at its facility.
