Resolution Ratifying the Action of the Executive Director in the Execution of an Emergency Septic Repair Contract at the Paul Wolff Campground

WHEREAS, the Board recognizes that situations may arise requiring immediate action to protect the general public, assets or reputation of the District; and
WHEREAS, on March 11th, 2026 the cap of the septic tank that is part of the RV dump station at the Paul Wolff Campground had collapsed rendering the dump station inoperable; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director, Benjamin Haberthur, authorized immediate repair of the tank to both eliminate a potential fall hazard and expedite the restoration of functionality to coincide with or near the opening of the Paul Wolff Campground on May 1st, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Director and staff have fully presented the specifics of the tank failure and action taken to remedy to the Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Illinois, does hereby acknowledge the exigent circumstances and approves, nunc pro tunc, the contract executed by the Executive Director on behalf of the District with Stark & Sons trenching of Hamphire, Illinois at a total cost of $39,677.
