Authorizing Intergovernmental Agreement between the Kane County Continuum of Care and the Cities of Aurora and Elgin for 2026

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department oversees the Continuum of Care (“Continuum”) for Kane County, a network of social services agencies established in 1999 that delivers services to the County’s homeless population with the goal of fostering self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Kane County Health Department coordinates the Continuum’s meetings, procures goods and services on the Continuum’s behalf, submits applications for federal and state funding, and oversees the Continuum’s client database known as the Homeless Management Information System (“HMIS”); and
WHEREAS, in 1999, the Kane County Board approved for the Cities of Aurora and Elgin, to contribute administrative expenses to Kane County to support the Continuum; and
WHEREAS, , the Cities of Aurora and Elgin wish to provide funding to Kane County Health Department for said expenses; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes the Kane County Board Chairman and/or the Director of the Kane County Health Department to execute intergovernmental agreements with the Cities of Aurora for Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00) and Elgin for Twelve Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($12,150.00)) to accept funding to cover the administrative costs of the Kane County Continuum of Care.
