AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A MASTER INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT AND OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN A PURCHASING COOPERATIVE WITH AT&T, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES UNDER SAID AGREEMENT BY KANE COUNTY

WHEREAS, the Governmental Joint Purchasing Act (30 ILCS 525/0.01 et seq.) provides that any governmental unit may procure services under any contract properly let by the State (30 ILCS 525/4.2); and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois (the "state"), conducted a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process for the purchase of "Telecom Networks Voice and Data Services" in 2021, on behalf of itself and other governmental units and qualifies not-for-profit agencies, including state and local governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, the State's procurement process conformed to the requirements of Kane County's Purchasing Ordinance outlined in Section 2-214; and
WHEREAS, the State awarded a contract to AT&T that has been extended through June 11, 2025; and
WHEREAS, said contract establishes discounted pricing for a wide array of services offered by AT&T; and
WHEREAS, other units of government may participate in the State's contract which effectively permits them to purchase AT&T products and services at the State's contract prices; and
WHEREAS, the Information Technologies Department is in need of these telecom networks voice and data services for use in most county offices and departments, and has secured a quote for said services from AT&T based on the contract pricing available under such a cooperative purchasing agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes and directs the Information Technologies Department to execute a contract agreement and other documents necessary to participate in a purchasing cooperative with AT&T.
