Authorizing a Grant Agreement with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) for the Award of the Officer Recruitment and Retention Grant

WHEREAS, the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILTESB) has awarded the Kane County Sheriff’s Office the Officer Recruitment and Retention Grant in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($125,150.00) to facilitate its on-going and essential efforts to maintain a sufficient number of deputies and officers; and

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office will create stipends with these funds to assist officers with childcare which will help to promote a better work-life balance with the objective of supporting long-term careers; and

 

WHEREAS, this grant will enable the Kane County Sheriff’s Office to enhance website and recruitment branding concepts.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes acceptance of the grant agreement 20250147 for Fiscal Year 2025 from ILETSB for the Officer Recruitment and Retention Grant in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($125,150.00) to support the Kane County Sheriff’s Office deputy and officer retention and recruitment efforts.
