AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR KANE COUNTY PEST CONTROL SERVICES WITH CHEM-WISE PEST MANAGEMENT (BID# 36-020)

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for Kane County Pest Control Services (BID# 36-020) with a total of five (5) bids were received by the Friday, June 26, 2020 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as per bid documents and specifications was Chem-Wise Pest Management of Aurora, IL for a base bid of $6,168.00 per year, Option #1 (insect light traps) pricing at $864.00 per year and Option #2 (wasp nest control) pricing at $1,068.00 per year for a combined total contract price of $8,100.00 per year. This contract will be for pest control services rendered at 12 different locations throughout the County as indicated in the contract; and
WHEREAS, additional add-on services based on an as needed basis will be provided to the three locations of Kane County Division of Transportation, Animal Control Facility and Office of Community Reinvestment; and
WHEREAS, this was a two (2) year contract with option to extend for three (3) additional one-year renewal periods if mutually agreed upon by both parties. Kane County reserves the right to change the commencement and/or end of the contract period. This is the third and final renewal; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been budgeted and are available in the FY2024 Building Management operating budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract extension for Kane County Pest Control Services with Chem-Wise Pest Management, 2648 Kirk Rd, Aurora, IL 60502 for the third and final one year extension in the amount of Eight Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($8,100), with a contingency of Two Thousand Dollars for as needed services ($2,000) for a total of Ten Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($10,100) .
