AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH WIGHT AND COMPANY FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE PROJECT

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 24-054 authorized an agreement with Wight & Company to proceed with the professional services proposal for the Public Defender's Office Renovation Design; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 24-099 authorized a contract extension for Architect, Engineer and Construction Manager at Risk Services, with Wight & Company being one of the approved vendors; and
WHEREAS, Wight & Company held an open bid for the Public Defender Office Renovation and received Twenty-Six (26) bids across Seven (7) trade packages; and
WHEREAS, Wight & Company will manage the trade contractors to execute the construction scope for the Public Defender's Office Project as the Construction Manager at Risk with the terms of our master contract; and
WHEREAS, the cost of this project as proposed by Wight & Company is Six Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($660,000) with Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000) in contingency for a total of Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000); and
WHEREAS, funds for this project have been budgeted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Wight & Company as the Construction Manager at Risk for the Public Defender's Office Renovation Project in an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000).
