Resolution Authorizing Support of an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Grant Application for Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements at Red Gate Road Pedestrian Bridge within Fox River Bluff Forest Preserve

WHEREAS, the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois (DISTRICT), desires to make extensive repairs to the pedestrian to Red Gate Road Bridge pedestrian bridge within Fox River Bluff Forest Preserve; and
WHEREAS, the District desires to seek grant assistance from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT); and
WHEREAS, an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) Grant will fund 80% of eligible preliminary engineering, design, construction, and construction engineering costs of the proposed improvements; and
WHEREAS, the District certifies to the best of its knowledge that the information provided within the application is true and correct; and
WHEREAS, If awarded the grant, the District does hereby commit to being responsible for payment of any required matching funds and/or ineligible or other costs associated with the Project as determined by Illinois Department of Transportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, Kane County, Illinois, that the President be and hereby is authorized to seek grants from the Illinois Department of Transportation for assistance in the development of improvements at the Red Gate Road Pedestrian Bridge within Fox River Bluff Forest Preserve.
