APPROVING FY2027 COUNTY MAINTENANCE MOTOR FUEL TAX APPROPRIATION, KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 27-00000-00-RF

WHEREAS, the County of Kane ("County"), through the Kane County Division of Transportation ("KDOT"), is responsible for the maintenance of the Kane County Highway System (“Highway System”) in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (605 ILCS 5/1-101, et seq); and
WHEREAS, the County's 2027 fiscal year expenses for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (“IMRF”) and Social Security for the Highway System are funded by the State of Illinois' Motor Fuel Tax ("MFT") as referred to as “Section #27-00000-00-RF”; and
WHEREAS, Four Hundred Three Thousand Eight Hundred Seven and 22/100 Dollars ($403,807.22) in MFT Funds is required to pay for the Highway System's IMRF and Social Security expenses (Section #27-00000-00-RF) in fiscal year 2027.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Highway System IMRF and Social Security expenses referred to as Section #27-00000-00-RF be allocated in conformance with the provisions of the Illinois Highway Code, following the procedures and guidelines as articulated within the Illinois Department of Transportation Circular Letters and its Motor Fuel Tax ("MFT") process during fiscal year 2027, beginning December 1, 2026 and ending November 30, 2027.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that Four Hundred Three Thousand Eight Hundred Seven and 22/100 Dollars ($403,807.22) is hereby allocated from the Motor Fuel Tax Fund #302 for Section #27-00000-00-RF; said sum being comprised of:
Two Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand Seven Hundred Nine and 39/100 Dollars ($222,709.39) from Line Item #45100 (FICA/SS Contribution)
One Hundred Eighty-One Thousand Ninety-Seven and 83/100 Dollars ($181,097.83) from Line Item #45200 (IMRF Contribution).
