WHEREAS, Kane County's wetlands are a valuable and vital resource which help attenuate floods, absorb pollutants, recharge groundwater and provide wildlife habitat; and

WHEREAS, the current wetland mapping for the County is the Kane County ADID Wetland Study which was completed more than 20 years ago in April 2004; and

WHEREAS, , the Kane County Board approved Resolution 24-342 on September 10, 2024 allocating $30,000 of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to be used toward the Countywide Wetland Resources Mapping Update; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department issued a Request for Qualifications for Professional Services for assistance in developing an updated wetland mapping in GIS to supplement the Kane County ADID Wetland Study published in 2004 (RFP 24-063-TS); and

WHEREAS, eight responses were received and staff from the Kane County Department of Environmental & Water Resources determined Hey & Associates, Inc. to be the most qualified firm for the project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board has authorized the Chairman to enter into an agreement with Hey & Associates, Inc. not to exceed Thirty Thousand and zero cents ($30,000.00) for the Kane County Wetlands Mapping Update Project.
