AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR KANE COUNTY DETENTION DOOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES WITH VALLEY SECURITY COMPANY FOR THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (BID# 23-029)

WHEREAS, bids were solicited for the Kane County Detention Door Services Bid (BID# 23-029) for certain facilities maintained by Building Management in the County of Kane. A total of one (1) bid was received. The responsive and responsible bidder for Detention Door Maintenance and Repair Services is Valley Security Company of South Elgin, IL; and
WHEREAS, Building Management outsources Detention Door Maintenance and Repair Services which cannot be performed in-house by County staff; and
WHEREAS, the contract covers the maintenance and repairs of Detention Door Equipment at Kane County Government facilities, and Building Management anticipated service and project needs of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) per fiscal year. Due to additional door repair needs for this one-year extension, there are anticipated service and project needs of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, Valley Security Company will be utilized on an "as needed", on call basis, at the per hour rates cited in its contract; and
WHEREAS, this was a three (3) year contract with two (2) one (1) year extensions, if mutually agreed upon and the Kane County Board approves. This is the first one (1) year extension; and
WHEREAS, accordingly, appropriate funds have been budgeted in the FY2026 Building Management budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute the first one (1) year contract extension with Valley Security Company, 660 Schneider Drive, South Elgin, IL 60177 for Detention Door Maintenance & Repair Services on an "as needed", on call basis, for an amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000) per f...
