AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT FOR THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES DEPARTMENT WITH WALKER AND ASSOCIATES, INC. DBA NETCEED & ALXTEL FOR JUNIPER, CISCO, FORTINET & SUPPORT SERVICES (RFP# 26-004-TK)

WHEREAS, the Information Technologies Department provides network services to all Kane County Offices and Departments; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Information Technologies Department issued RFP# 26-004-TK for Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet & Support Services. A total of five (5) responses were received by the Friday, January 1, 2026 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the most responsive and responsible bidders as per RFP documents and specifications, were Walker and Associates, Inc. dba Netceed of Winston-Salem, NC and AlxTel, Inc. of Silver Spring, MD; and
WHEREAS, this is a four (4) year contract and will have two (2) possible one (1) year renewal periods if mutually agreed upon by both parties; and
WHEREAS, adequate funds have been budgeted and are available in the FY2026 Kane County Information Technologies operating budget; and
WHEREAS, the contract calls for the use of funds beyond the present budget year and the County of Kane acknowledges the necessity of the appropriation of such funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Walker and Associates, Inc. dba Netceed, 110 Business Park Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27107 and Alxtel, Inc., 8403 Colesville Rd. Suite 1100, Silver Spring, MD 20910 for Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet & Support Services for a four (4) year term with two (2) one (1) year mutually agreed upon renewals for a not to exceed amount of Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800,000) per fiscal year.
