AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF THE CONTRACT WITH FLOCK GROUP, INC. BY THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff is responsible for the safety and security of the citizens of Kane County, Illinois, a large and diverse community; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office contracts with and purchases from multiple vendors to provide for and support the crime prevention and solving needs of the office; and
WHEREAS, Flock Group, Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia, is a premier company specializing in comprehensive and intelligent holistic public safety equipment known as Flock Safety that provides actionable evidence to solve, deter, and reduce crime across neighborhoods, schools, and cities; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's has successfully contracted with Flock Group for Flock Safety surveillance support around Kane County, demonstrating a significant impact on crime response and prevention; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff's Office seeks to renew its contract with Flock Safety to continue the service of 25 License Plate Reader (LPR) cameras dispersed countywide, including at the Judicial Center complex and the Government Center; and
WHEREAS, the cost of Seventy-Two Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($72,000.00) per year has been included in the Sheriff's Office Fiscal Year 2026 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes that the current contract between the Kane County Sheriff's Office and Flock Group, Inc. be extended for the current and coming years at a rate of Seventy-Two Thousand Dollars ($72,000) per year.
