AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH LIFEWAY MOBILITY AND R.C. WEGMAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE DESIGN AND BUILD FOR INCLINE PLATFORM LIFT PROJECT FOR THE KANE COUNTY BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (BID# 26-055-DH)

WHEREAS, bids have been solicited for the Kane County Building Management Department Design and Build for Incline Platform Lift Project (BID# 26-055-DH). A total of one (1) bid was received by the August 21, 2026 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, as per bid documents and specifications, is Lifeway Mobility, 210 W Campus Dr. Ste B, Arlington Heights, IL 60004; and
WHEREAS, the contract is for the duration of the Design and Build for Incline Platform Lift Project in an amount not to exceed Eighty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars ($83,333); and
WHEREAS, this includes the construction management cost of Twenty-Four Thousand Three Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($24,374) with R.C. Wegman Construction Company and contingency of Eleven Thousand One Hundred Fifty-One Dollars ($11,151); and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted as part of the 2026 capital plan and will be paid from Building Management Capital (500.800.805.72010) Building Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Lifeway Mobility, 210 W Campus Dr. Ste B, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and R.C. Wegman Construction Company, 750 Morton Ave. Aurora, IL 60506 for the Design and Build for Incline Platform Lift Project for the Building Management Department in the amount not to exceed Eighty-Three Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars ($83,333).
