AUTHORIZING THE KANE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH FIRST RESPONDERS WELLNESS CENTER, PLLC, FOR WELLNESS COORDINATOR SERVICES

WHEREAS, Kane County, in order to promote the public's safety and welfare, wishes to assist its law enforcement agencies in accessing mental health resources, including counselors or therapists; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff is required and desires to provide mental health resources to its employees by statute (55 ILCS 5/3-6012.2; 50 ILCS 705/6(f)); and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Sheriff, with the help of the Purchasing Department, issued a Request for Proposal (RFP 26-038-DH) at the end of June to find comprehensive, competent, and confidential mental wellness services for Public Safety sworn personnel, and received four responses; and
WHEREAS, two Public Safety supervisory officers evaluated the responses and determined that First Responders Wellness Center, PLLC, 477 E. Butterfield Road, Lombard, IL, provided the most responsive proposal that will provide high quality and value to meet the needs desired and required by Illinois State law and by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board; and
WHEREAS, the cost per deputy for an annual wellness check is $175, with an expected total of $17,500 for the 100 sworn personnel annually that will be served by this provider. This cost was included in both the FY2026 and FY2027 budgets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby authorizes the Kane County Sheriff to enter into an agreement with First Responders Wellness Center, PLLC, of Lombard, IL, for wellness program coordinator services to provide annual and other wellness services for Public Safety sworn personnel.
