RATIFYING EMERGENCY PURCHASE AFFIDAVIT FOR INTERIM DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

WHEREAS, Director of the Office of Community Reinvestment resigned effective March 10, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Kane County is in immediate need of a temporary Director to minimize disruption of essential County services and ensure staffing needs, reporting, and regulatory deadlines are met; and

WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has requested and received emergency purchase authorization from the Kane County Board Chairman, pursuant to Kane County Code Chapter 2, Article VI, Division 3, Section 2-217 (A) for services relating to a temporary Director of Workforce Development agreement with John Duguay, contracted through MGT Impact Solutions, LLC (MGT) of Tampa, FL, in an amount not to exceed $50,000 from Workforce Development funds; and

WHEREAS, John Duguay is an experienced manager with considerable county government experience and was best suited to provide these emergency services; and

WHEREAS, John Duguay contracted through MGT Impact Solutions, LLC (MGT) of Tampa, FL, in an amount to not exceed $50,000 is available has the needed skills as best suited and cost effective to provide these emergency services.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby ratifies the Emergency Purchase Affidavit for services relating to a temporary Director of Workforce Development from John Duguay contracted through MGT Impact Solutions, LLC (MGT), of Tampa, FL, in an amount to not exceed $50,000 to ensure the undisrupted services of the County following the resignation of the Executive Director of Workforce Development and authorizes the Kane County Board Chairman to execute any necessary documents in connection with the Emergency Purchase Affidavit.
