REQUESTING THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE TO RETURN FUNDS TO U.S. ALLIANCE OF ELECTION EXCELLENCE AND CEASE ALL BUSINESS WITH U.S. ALLIANCE AND ALL PARTNERS

WHEREAS, the Kane County Clerk's Office entered an agreement to accept a $2 million grant with the Center for Tech and Civic Life on December 6, 2022, which was rescinded by Jack Cunningham on June 22, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Clerk's Office entered a new agreement to accept a $2 million grant with the Center for Tech and Civic Life on June 22, 2023; and
WHEREAS, a tax form 990 for the Center for Technology and Civic Life, which was included in the March 14, 2023, Kane County Board agenda packet, shows donations without naming the contributors; and
WHEREAS, Clerk will receive $650,000 (July 2023) and will receive another $1,350,000 in December 2023; and
WHEREAS, the public has been present and vocal at board meetings and public service committee meetings and has clearly stated that no private money should be granted to the Clerk. The public is against the grant made to Kane County Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the Public Service Committee has "jurisdiction of all matters relating to the offices of the county clerk" under Kane County, IL Code of Ordinances, section 2-48 standing committees/Public Service; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board formally request the return of all money (at least $650,000) to U.S. Alliance of Election Excellence and cease all business with U.S. Alliance of Election Excellence and all of its partners or any other business associated with U.S. Alliance of Election Excellence.
