Authorizing the Funding of Workforce Development Program Expenses from the General Fund General Account

WHEREAS, on November 30, 2024 Workforce Development paid $29,000 to Center Tool Company - for Instructor/Trainer Wages or Tuition Costs for On The Job Learning from the period October 4, 2021 to March 24, 2023 and sought reimbursement for this expense from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program Year 2023 (WIOA 23) Program Year and should have expensed the payment against the Program Year 2022 program; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has since closed the grant period for which a correction can be made, thus requiring Workforce Development to find alternative funds to reimburse DCEO.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that a transfer be made in Fiscal Year 2026 totaling $29,000 from the General Fund General Account #001 to the Workforce Development Fund #480 so that a reimbursement to DCEO can be made.
