AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT RENEWAL FOR KANE COUNTY ASBESTOS, LEAD, AND MOLD CONSULTANT SERVICES WITH MIDWEST ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES, INC. FOR THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT (RFP# 22-011)

WHEREAS, Building Management outsources asbestos, lead, and mold consultation services which cannot be performed in house by County staff. Proposals were solicited and received for Kane County Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Consultant Services (RFP# 22-011). A total of five (5) proposals were received and evaluated per the evaluation criteria in the proposal document; and
WHEREAS, the vendor selected, Midwest Environmental Consulting Services, Inc., received the highest overall evaluation score by the evaluation team. Projects will be on a case-by-case basis and the County will ask the selected firm to provide a proposal and/or cost estimate for their services for each project that they are assigned to deliver; and
WHEREAS, projects range in size and duration from half a day to possibly multiple weeks. The consultant shall ensure that all relevant laws, standards, regulations and County specifications are followed; and
WHEREAS, the original contract was for a three (3) year term with two (2) additional one (1) year renewal options, if mutually agreed upon by both parties. This is authorizing the second one (1) year renewal; and
WHEREAS, Building Management has budgeted the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars for FY2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute the second one-year contract extension with Midwest Environmental Consulting Services Inc., 2551 N. Bridget St., Yorkville, IL 60560 for Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Consultant Services in a not to exceed amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) per fiscal year.
