Authorizing Agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Homeless Management Information Systems Grant for Program Year 2027

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department oversees the Continuum of Care for Kane County, a network of social services agencies that coordinates services for the homeless population with the goal of fostering self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, the agencies utilize the County's Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to track and report client needs and services, and the cost of the system is covered with Federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, HUD has awarded funds to the County to cover HMIS costs for the period July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Kane County Board Chairman and/or the Executive Director of the Health Department are authorized to execute an agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
