Authorizing Fiscal Year 2026 County Board Employees Cost-of-Living Wage Increase and Emergency Appropriation and Budget Adjustments to Amend FY2026 County Budget

WHEREAS, the County Board desires to formally authorize a cost-of-living wage increase of 3% for non-union employees, active as of December 7, 2025, excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days, in the County Board Office for Fiscal Year 2026; and
WHEREAS, an emergency appropriation and budget adjustment are required to amend the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget to provide for a cost-of-living wage increase of 3% for the County Board Office’s eligible employees effective December 7, 2025, which is the first pay period beginning after December 1, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that a 3% cost-of-living wage increase for non-union employees in the County Board Office, active as of December 7, 2025, excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days, for Fiscal Year 2026, effective December 7, 2025, which is the first pay period beginning on or after December 1, 2025, is hereby authorized for each non-union employee in the County Board Office; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that the emergency appropriations and budget adjustments as listed on Exhibit A be made to the FY2026 Budget as of December 1, 2025.
