Resolution Authorizing a Bid for the Fox River Trail Path Improvements- Phase 1 Construction Project

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and desirable for the Forest Preserve Commission to authorize a bid for the Fox River Trail Path Improvements- Phase 1 on the Fox River Trail in South Elgin; and
WHEREAS, the project includes safety rail installation, drainage improvements, and shoreline stabilization; and
WHEREAS, the qualified, lowest bid for the project was received from EarthWerks Land Improvement and Development Corporation totaling $693,042.00. Additionally, the District is budgeting a 10% contingency of $69,304.20 for any unanticipated costs that may arise during construction, for a total project amount of $762,346.20.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, in Kane County, Illinois, that the qualified, lowest bid by EarthWerks Land Improvement & Development Corporation of Lisle, Illinois, and a 10% contingency for a total project cost not to exceed $762,346.20 be, and herby is, accepted and approved.
