Approving Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Michael Baker International, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois for the 2020 Structural Services Project, Kane County Section No. 19-00523-00-BR

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 23-310, the County of Kane (hereinafter the “County”) approved a Phase II Construction Engineering Services Agreement (hereinafter the “Agreement”) with Michael Baker International, Inc. which appropriated Seventy-Eight Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-Five Dollars ($78,635.00), (hereinafter the “Appropriation”) required for the construction of the 2020 Structural Services Project (hereinafter the “Improvement”); and
WHEREAS, the original term of the Agreement was for three years and expired before the completion of the previously approved Improvement; and
WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interest to enter into an Amendment No. 1 to extend the date of the Agreement to December 31, 2026, to allow for the completion of the work intended as part of the Improvement; and
WHEREAS, the extension of the Agreement between the parties through the proposed amendment will not require any additional appropriation from the County to complete the Improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Michael Baker International, Inc. is hereby approved and the Chairman of the Kane County Board is hereby authorized and directed to execute the proposed Amendment No. 1.
