Approving an Appropriation for Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) to Support Planning and Programming Services

WHEREAS, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (“CMAP”) and the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (“MPO”), which CMAP assists, are responsible for regional land use and transportation planning for northeastern Illinois, including Kane County, (collectively, the “Region”); and
WHEREAS, CMAP and the MPO have completed the Region’s 2050 long range land use and transportation plan, which is titled, “On To 2050”; and
WHEREAS, CMAP recognizes that partnerships and coordination with units of local government is critical to the successful implementation of the integrated, long range, land use and transportation plan titled “On To 2050” and other planning & programming initiatives and activities within the Region; and
WHEREAS, Kane County (hereinafter the “County”), is a partner agency of CMAP and the MPO in the development and implementation of the “On To 2050” plan, and other activities and initiatives within the Region; and
WHEREAS, the County recognizes the importance of CMAP in sustaining the long-term vitality of the Region and desires to continue a cooperative and productive relationship with CMAP.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board appropriate the sum of Sixty Thousand Nine Hundred Forty-Seven and 16/100 Dollars ($60,947.16) from County Highway Fund #300, Line Item #50330 (Northeast IL Plan and Metro Srvs) to assist with funding CMAP services for Kane County.
