Approving a Resolution Appropriating Funds to the Central Community Unit School District 301 for Plato Road Improvements

WHEREAS, the Central Community Unit School District 301 (hereinafter “CCUSD 301”) has solicited and received bids for a Road Improvement Project on County Highway No. 32 (Plato Road) (hereinafter the “Project”); and
WHEREAS, the Project will widen the roadway for the right and left turn lanes at the Central High School main entrance as well as re-establish the super-elevation of the horizontal curve on Plato Road; and
WHEREAS, the CCUSD 301 has entered into a contract with Schroeder Asphalt Services, Inc. of Huntley, Illinois, to complete the Project; and
WHEREAS, the CCUSD 301 engaged in a competitive bidding process prior to procuring services from Schroeder Asphalt Services, Inc; and
WHEREAS, the County of Kane has agreed to financially participate in the asphalt surface removal, asphalt surface placement, and asphalt binder over the existing Plato Road pavement for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the unit prices related to the financial participation will be the basis of the County’s reimbursement to CCUSD 301 with an amount not to exceed the cost of One Hundred Four Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($104,400.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the sum of One Hundred Four Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($104,400.00) is hereby appropriated from Transportation Capital Fund #304, Line Item #73000 (Road Construction) for the County’s financial participation of the CCUSD 301 Plato Road Improvement Project.
