Authorizing Fiscal Year 2027 Non-Union Cost-of-Living Wage Increase

WHEREAS, for departments under the direction of the County Board, the County desires to formally authorize a cost-of-living wage increase of 2.5% for the County’s non-union employees, active as of December 6, 2026, for Fiscal Year 2027, excluding employees whose salaries or wages are set by collective bargaining agreement, statute, ordinance, or employment contract and excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Board desires to formally authorize a cost-of-living wage increase of 2.5% for the County’s department heads, active as of December 6, 2026, specified in section 2-48(A)(3) of the Kane County Code, including the Executive Director of Information Technologies and Building Management, the Supervisor of Assessments, the Director of Development, the Director of Workforce Development, the Executive Director of the Health Department, the Director of Communications for KaneComm, the Director of Environmental and Water Resources, the Director of the Office of Emergency Management, the Director of Transportation, the Executive Director of the Human Resource Management Department, and the Executive Director of the Finance Department; excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Board desires to formally authorize a cost-of-living wage increase of 2.5% for the administrator, deputy administrator(s) and wardens of the County’s Animal Control department, active as of December 6, 2026, specified in section 5-3 of the Kane County Code; excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that a 2.5% cost-of-living wage increase for Fiscal Year 2027, effective December 6, 2026, which is the first pay period beginning on or after December 1, 2026, is hereby authorized for each non-union employee in departments under the direction of the County Board, active and employed for at least 90 continuous days as of December 6, 2026, excluding those whose salaries or wages are set by collective bargaining agreement, statute, ordinance, or employment contract; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that a 2.5% cost-of-living wage increase for Fiscal Year 2027, effective the first pay period beginning on or after December 1, 2026, is hereby authorized for the County’s department heads, active and employed for at least 90 continuous days as of December 6, 2026, specified in section 2-48(A)(3) of the Kane County Code.

 

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Kane County Board that a 2.5% cost-of-living wage increase for Fiscal Year 2027, effective the first pay period beginning on or after December 1, 2026, is hereby authorized for the administrator, deputy administrator(s) and wardens of the County’s Animal Control department, active as of December 6, 2026, excluding employees employed by the County less than 90 days, specified in section 5-3 of the Kane County Code.
