Authorizing the Purchase of Juvenile Justice Center Vehicle Cameras

WHEREAS, Pursuant to the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 Federal Citation 34 USC CH. 303, Supervision & Monitoring §115.313: (a) The agency shall ensure that each facility it operates shall develop, implement and document a staffing plan that provides for adequate levels of staffing and where applicable, video monitoring, to protect residents against sexual abuse; and

 

WHEREAS, Midwest  Public Safety (MPS) is a member of the Sourcewell Procurement Cooperative and has the expertise, experience, knowledge and resources to install and maintain surveillance cameras in the Juvenile Justice Center’s vehicles; and

 

WHEREAS, the Juvenile Justice Center desires to enter into a five (5) year agreement with MPS to install and maintain surveillance cameras in both of the Juvenile Justice Center’s vehicles.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that Madam Chair is authorized to sign a five (5) year contract with MPS to install and maintain cameras and monitoring equipment in both of the Juvenile Justice Center’s vehicles commencing on the date of signing by both parties, at a one-time cost of Twenty-Two Thousand Six Hundred and Sixteen Dollars ($22,616).
