Approving a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with GFT Infrastructure, Inc. of Schaumburg, Illinois for the IL-47 Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study, Kane County Section No. 26-00595-00-ES

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the County of Kane and the motoring public to improve and maintain the various highways throughout Kane County; and
WHEREAS, professional engineering services are required to conduct a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study for various improvements to IL State Route 47 from Plank Road to Interstate 88 (hereinafter the “Study”); and
WHEREAS, in order to perform the Study, it is necessary to retain the services of a professional engineering firm; and
WHEREAS, GFT Infrastructure, Inc., with a principal business address of 1475 E. Woodfield Road, Schaumburg, Illinois 60173, has experience and professional expertise in engineering services and is willing to perform said services for the Study for an amount not to exceed Three Million Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine and 99/100 Dollars ($3,999,999.99), as set forth within a professional engineering services agreement (the “Agreement”), a copy of which is on file with the County Clerk’s Office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with GFT Infrastructure, Inc. for professional engineering services for the IL 47 Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kane County Board appropriates a sum not to exceed Three Million Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Nine and 99/100 Dollars ($3,999,999.99) from the Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item #50140 (Engineering Services), to pay for said professional engineering services.
