Authorizing Budget Adjustment for the Lead Poisoning Prevention and Response Grant

WHEREAS, grant activities and information regarding how they will serve as a designated delegate agency for the purpose of implementing the provisions of the Lead Poisoning Prevention Act [410 ILCS 45/1] and the Lead Poisoning Prevention Code (77 Ill. Adm. Code, Part 845) and provide the following services and act in compliance with all state and federal statutes and administrative rules applicable to the provision of services pursuant to this grant; and
WHEREAS, Case management for children (ages 0-15) and pregnant persons identified with a confirmed blood lead level at or greater than 5 micrograms per deciliter from July 1 - December 31, 2024, and at or greater than 3.5 micrograms per deciliter starting January 1, 2025, using the appropriate, available case management services and Department guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the Lead Poisoning Prevention and Response Grant outcomes are a decrease to a manageable level in the identified child’s elevated blood lead level through interventions into the causes of the lead poisoning. The purchase of SciAps X-550 Pb HUD/EPA Lead Paint Analyzer - W provides Health department staff the ability test for lead paint, which improves the timeliness of receiving the test results. The $24,675.00 cost of the equipment is fully funded by the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board thereof is hereby authorized to approve the purchase of the SciAps X-550 Pb HUD/EPA Lead Paint Analyzer-W from SciAps, Inc.
