Authorizing a Contract with Intersection Media, LLC for Advertising on Suburban Pace Bus Routes to Promote Increased and Improved Curbside Recycling

WHEREAS, Kane County is a partner in the Feed the Cart Campaign, a regional recycling awareness campaign intended to increase the quantity and quality of curbside recycling collected in the region, funded through a U.S. EPA Recycling Outreach and Education grant; and
WHEREAS, Kane County has been subawarded federal grant funds by the Metropolitan Mayor’s Caucus, the primary grant holder, to amplify the Feed the Cart messaging in the County (Res 24-407); and
WHEREAS, Pace service runs through several high-traffic and densely populated areas of Kane County, potentially providing 11.8 million advertising impressions over the course of a thirteen-week advertising run; and
WHEREAS, Intersection Media, LLC has the exclusive right to sell advertising on Pace property per its contract with Pace, the Suburban Bus Division of the Regional Transportation Authority, an Illinois municipal corporation (RTA Solicitation No. 423029); and
WHEREAS, Kane County intends to recoup a portion of the contract costs from DuPage County, which is also a Feed the Cart partner, through a separate intergovernmental agreement, due to the contract scope of work including advertising on a Pace route that crosses county boundaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board authorizes and directs its Chairman to enter into a contract for advertising services with Intersection Media, LLC in the amount of $34,784 (Thirty-four Thousand Seven-Hundred and Eighty-Four Dollars).
