Approving a Contract for Construction with Herlihy Mid-Continent Company of Romeoville, Illinois for the Randall Road at Claude Hanson Bridge Joint Replacement and Thin Lift Epoxy Overlay Project, Kane County Section No. 26-00176-06-BR

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has solicited and received bids for the work described as:
KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 26-00176-06-BR
RANDALL ROAD AT CLAUDE HANSON BRIDGE JOINT REPLACEMENT AND THIN LIFT EPOXY OVERLAY PROJECT
(hereinafter the “Project”)
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder for the Project is:
HERLIHY MID-CONTINENT COMPANY OF ROMEOVILLE, ILLINOIS
With a low bid of
$1,022,000.00
WHEREAS, the County deems it prudent to include in its estimated Project cost a Ten Percent (10%) contingency amounting to One Hundred Two Thousand Two Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($102,200.00) to cover any unforeseen added costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that a contract for the Project described hereinabove shall be awarded to the lowest bidder, Herlihy Mid-Continent Company of Romeoville, Illinois in the amount as indicated hereinabove and that the County Board Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract and contractor’s bond therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that there is hereby appropriated the sum of One Million One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Two Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($1,124,200.00) from Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item #73010 (Bridge Construction) to pay for the Project.
