Authorizing the Purchase of One 2025-2026 Ford Escape Replacement Vehicle for the Building Management Department Based on Competitive Price Quotations

WHEREAS, the Building Management Department has a need to replace an existing 2019 Ford Transit fleet vehicle due to a failing transmission; and
WHEREAS, the existing 2019 Ford Transit has been reviewed, and a replacement guideline calculation sheet has been completed recommending replacement of the vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Ordinance allows purchases below the simplified acquisition threshold to be awarded by Department Heads following a competitive price quotation process, provided that at least three (3) quotations are obtained prior to selection; and
WHEREAS, the vendor will be determined through the competitive price quotation process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Executive Director of IT and Building Management is authorized to purchase one (1) 2025-2026 Ford Escape in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Nine Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($29,500), to be paid from the Capital Automotive Equipment line item: 500.800.805.70070. The vendor shall be selected through the competitive price quotation process, with award to the lowest available vendor.
