Informing the County Board of Adult Drug Rehabilitation Court Contracts

WHEREAS, the Drug Court Treatment Act (730 ILCS 166) requires each Judicial Circuit to operate specialized drug courts in accordance with evidence-based practices and the Illinois Supreme Court Problem Solving Court Standards; and
WHEREAS, Court Services is the authorized department to oversee the budget of the Adult Drug Rehabilitation Court to provide services to individuals whose criminality is linked to substance abuse and addiction; and
WHEREAS, Court Services has entered into agreements with community agencies since the inception of the Adult Drug Rehabilitation Court in order to facilitate availability of necessary services to the participant; and
WHEREAS, Court Services has issued RFP 20-037 and evaluated the services of Gateway Foundation Inc. and Lutheran Social Services to provide evidence-based treatment services for the participants in this program; and
WHEREAS, Court Services pays for the provision of these services through Drug Court Special Resources, a special fund under the administrative control of the Chief Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board is informed that the Chief Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit has entered into contracts with Gateway Foundation Inc. and Lutheran Social Services for a period of 1 year for each contract beginning on January, 1, 2026 with options to renew each contract for four (4) one-year extensions. The total cost to Court Services shall not exceed the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for each year.
