Authorizing a Contract Extension for Janitorial Services for Kane County Facilities with Eco Clean Maintenance, Inc. (BID# 24-038-TS)

WHEREAS, the Building Management Department is responsible for the janitorial services at all Kane County facilities; and
WHEREAS, bids were solicited for Janitorial Services (BID# 24-038-TS) to identify the most qualified and cost-effective provider for Kane County. A total of six (6) proposals were received by the May 30, 2024 deadline; and
WHEREAS, the most responsive and responsible bidder for Janitorial Services was Eco Clean Maintenance, Inc. of Elmhurst, IL in the annual amount of Two Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Five Hundred Sixteen Dollars ($225,516); and
WHEREAS, the original contract (Resolution No. 24-282) provided for a two (2) year term with three (3) one (1) year renewals if mutually agreed upon and the Kane County Board approves; and
WHEREAS, due to the purchase of the building located at 2170 Point Blvd in Elgin, IL 60123, an additional Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) is being requested. Some Offices and Departments are responsible for costs incurred at this location and pay the monthly cost directly; and
WHEREAS, this is the execution of the first one-year renewal and there will be a 3% cost increase. The extension total will be Two Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand Two Hundred Eighty-Two Dollars ($282,282) per fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, accordingly, appropriate funds have been budgeted for the FY2026 Building Management budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract extension with Eco Clean Maintenance, Inc. 515 W Wrightwood Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126 for Janitorial Services for the first one (1) year extension in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand Two Hundred Eighty-Two Dollars ($282,282) per fiscal year.
