Emergency Appropriation and Budget Adjustment Request Amending Resolution No. 24-076

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 24-076, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, the Kane County Board approved an increase in the County Highway Fund #300 appropriation to transfer $100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Dollars) from the County Highway Fund #300 to the Insurance Liability Fund #010, to defray the cost of staff assigned to provide legal assistance and representation to the Kane County Division of Transportation (KDOT); and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 24-076 also approved a corresponding revenue appropriation adjustment in the Insurance Liability Fund #010 to receive the transfer of $100,000 from the County Highway Fund and reduce the reliance on Insurance Liability Fund balance to balance the fund’s Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriation and Budget; and
WHEREAS, to achieve the intent and purpose of Resolution No. 24-076, it is now necessary to increase the expenditure appropriation for the Insurance Liability Fund #010 to account for expenditures that the State’s Attorney’s Office will incur while providing regular legal assistance and representation to KDOT; and
WHEREAS, the additional expenditures associated with the transfer of funds approved by the County Board in Resolution No. 24-076 are the assignment of one (1) additional full-time paralegal, software, and office supplies to assist the Civil Division with providing legal assistance to KDOT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board increase the expense appropriation for the Insurance Liability Fund #010 and provide budget adjustments, which will authorize corresponding expenditures that includes the assignment of one (1) additional full-time paralegal, software, and office supplies to assist the Civil Division with providing legal assistance to KDOT, and make the following, additional appropriation adjustments to the Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriation and Budget:
