Approving a Contract for Construction with Helm Electric Facility Solutions, Inc. dba Helm Electric of Rockford, Illinois for the KDOT Fiber Optic Backup Improvement Project, Kane County Section No. 25-00583-00-TL

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has solicited and received bids for the work and maintenance described as:
KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 25-00583-00-TL
KANE COUNTY DIVISION OF TRANSPORTATION
FIBER OPTIC BACKUP IMPROVEMENT
(hereinafter the “Project”)
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder for the Project is:
HELM ELECTRIC FACILITY SOLUTIONS, INC. DBA HELM ELECTRIC
OF ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS
With a low bid of
$1,271,621.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that a maintenance contract for the Project described hereinabove shall be awarded to the lowest bidder, Helm Electric Facility Solutions, Inc. dba Helm Electric of Sterling, Illinois, in the amount as indicated hereinabove and that the County Board Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract and contractor’s bond therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there is hereby appropriated the sum of One Million Two Hundred Seventy-One Thousand Six Hundred Twenty-One and 25/100 Dollars ($1,271,621.25) from Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item #73000 (Road Construction) to pay for the Project.
