Approving the Purchase of Three (3) 2027 Tandem Axle Truck Cab and Chassis for the Kane County Division of Transportation

WHEREAS, pursuant to Kane County Resolution No. 22-266, the County of Kane and Sourcewell entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) to procure materials, services, supplies, equipment, construction and construction-related services; and
WHEREAS, bids have been solicited and received for Three (3) model year 2027 Kenworth T480 tandem axle truck cab and chassis (hereinafter the “Vehicles”) to replace three vehicles utilized by the Kane County Division of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, CIT Trucks, LLC - with a principal business address of, 305 W. Northtown Rd., Suite A, Normal, Illinois 61761 was selected as the vendor for the Vehicles under the Sourcewell authorized cooperative agreement; and
WHEREAS, CIT Trucks, LLC has offered to sell the Vehicles for a purchase price of Four Hundred Sixty-Eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight and 33/100 Dollars ($468,258.33); and
WHEREAS, a contingency appropriation of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) over the offered amount is necessary as a part of the purchase of the Vehicles due to unforeseen costs associated with the purchase and delivery, for a total cost for the Vehicles not to exceed Four Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight and 33/100 Dollars ($498,258.33).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the offer for said Vehicles from CIT Trucks, LLC in the amount of Four Hundred Sixty-Eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight and 33/100 Dollars ($468,258.33) is accepted and that the County of Kane purchase said Vehicles from CIT Trucks, LLC - Rockford.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that an additional contingency of Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00), for a total amount not to exceed Four Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-Eight and 33/100 Dollars ($498,258.33); payment therefor to be made from the Local Option Motor Fuel Fund #304, Line Item #70070 (Automotive Equipment).
