Approving and Authorizing the Termination of Contract for Snow Plowing Services with Winter Services, LLC (Contract #24-039-TK)

WHEREAS, through BID #24-039-TK, the County of Kane received BIDs for Snow Plowing Services at the following properties: Government Center, Building C, Judicial Center, Juvenile Justice Center, Sheriff’s Office and Jail, Animal Control, Gas Pumps and Office of Emergency Management which is managed by the Building Management Department; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 24-357, the County of Kane entered into a three (3) year contract, effective 2024 fall season, with mutual option for two (2) one-year renewal periods, with Winter Services LLC for Snow Plowing Services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the Contract, the County may terminate the Contract at any time upon thirty (30) days written notice; and
WHEREAS, the Kane County Building Management Department has determined that it is in the best interest of the County to terminate the contract with Winter Services LLC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board approves and authorizes the termination of the aforementioned Contract with Winter Services LLC for Snow Plowing Services for various Kane County Government facilities (Contract #24-039-TK); and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Kane County Board Chairman is authorized to execute any required documents and take any and all immediate actions necessary to effectuate this termination, subject to the review and advisement of the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.
