Authorizing a Short-Term Extension for Access Control System Contracts with Alarm Detection Systems, INC. and Convergint Technologies for the Kane County Information Technologies Department due to Ongoing Projects (BID# 30-019)

WHEREAS, the Kane County Information Technologies and Building Management Departments work with various Offices and Departments regarding security and building access systems to provide consistency and efficiency in the operation of such systems; and
WHEREAS, the previous contract was competitively solicited and awarded by the County Board on September 10. 2019 per Resolution No. 19-309 to 1.) Convergint Technologies of Schaumburg, IL, and 2.) Alarm Detection Systems of Aurora, IL for a two (2) year term with an option for an additional two (2) twenty-four (24) month contract extensions which was used per Resolution No. 24-100. The service contracts provide performing security camera and building access control systems design, installation, maintenance, training and monitoring at various Kane County facilities; and
WHEREAS, this short-term extension is requested due to unfinished projects that are ARPA funded that are beyond the contract completion date. The vendors, Convergint Technologies and ADS, have agreed to the same service terms and conditions, as well as pricing as outlined in the existing contracts. This short-term extension is requested through the end of calendar year: December 31, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a short-term contract extension due to unfinished projects that are ARPA funded with 1.) Convergint Technologies of Schaumburg, IL, and 2.) Alarm Detection Systems of Aurora, IL. This extension will be through December, 31, 2026 utilizing any funds allocated by ARPA to this project.
