Approving a Contract for Construction with Builders Paving, LLC of Hillside, Illinois for 2026 Kaneville Township Resurfacing Project, Kane County Section No. 26-11000-01-GM

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation, on behalf of the Kaneville Township Road District, has solicited and received bids for the work and/or construction described as:
KANEVILLE TOWNSHIP ROAD DISTRICT SECTION NO. 26-11000-01-GM
(hereinafter the “Project”)
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder for the Project is:
BUILDERS PAVING, LLC OF HILLSIDE, ILLINOIS
With a low bid of
$202,778.00
WHEREAS, the Kaneville Township Road District is eligible to receive appropriations pursuant to the Motor Fuel Tax Law (35 ILCS 505/1, et seq.); and
WHEREAS, the Township Highway Commissioner of the Kaneville Township Road District and the Kane County Engineer have executed a Request for Expenditure / Authorization of Motor Fuel Tax Funds (BLR-09150) relative to a Motor Fuel Tax Fund appropriation request for road maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the Kaneville Township Road District intends on utilizing the services of Builders Paving, LLC to complete a resurfacing project with traffic control within its respective jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Project shall be paid for from the Township’s Motor Fuel Tax Fund, and no funds from Kane County are being used on the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that a contract for the Project described hereinabove shall be awarded to Builders Paving, LLC in the amount as indicated hereinabove and that the County Board Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract and contractor’s bond therefor; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the low bid for the Project, be allocated from the Kaneville Township Road District’s Motor Fuel Tax Fund to Builders Paving, LLC for the work described in the Request for Expenditure/Authorization of Motor Fuel Tax Funds (BLR-09150) executed by the Kane County Engineer and the Township Highway Commissioner of the Kaneville Township Road District, and approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in as much as such estimated quantities are the best approximation that can be determined at this time, these quantities may be added to, deducted from, or modified from in the final determination of the contract cost in accordance with 605 ILCS 5/5-205.2 and 605 ILCS 5/6-701.1 without further board action; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this award be processed by the County Engineer for final approval on behalf of the Illinois Department of Transportation in accordance with the “Agreement of Understanding” between the Illinois Department of Transportation and Kane County, dated December 18, 2025, and subject to the approval of the Kaneville Township Road District.
