Authorizing an Easement Agreement with the City of Geneva

WHEREAS, Kane County maintains fiber optic network cable for the purpose of communications and data services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Geneva is the owner of certain real property in the County of Kane, State of Illinois, identified as Property Index Number 09-31-400-013, located within the corporate limits of the City of Geneva; and
WHEREAS, Kane County desires to partner with the City of Geneva for a temporary twenty-five foot (25’) construction easement and an underground, ten foot (10’) fiber optic utility easement upon the subject parcel as described in Exhibit A (Collectively referred to as the “Easement Areas”), for the purposes of constructing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing fiber optic utility services and appurtenances as described in Exhibit ‘B’ (“Proposed Fiber Optic Conduit Installation”) as prepared by CCSI Networks, dated July 23, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the proposed fiber optic conduit installation will provide a critical communications connection between the Kane County Emergency Communications Center (KaneComm) and the Tri-Com Central Dispatch emergency communications system to support the delivery, reliability, and continuity of Enhanced 9-1-1 and public safety communication services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board Chairman and Information Technologies Department are authorized to enter into an easement agreement with the City of Geneva for a temporary twenty-five-foot (25’) construction easement and an underground, ten-foot (10’) fiber optic utility easement upon the subject parcel as described in Exhibit A (Property Index Number 09-31-400-013).
