Approving a Contract for Construction with Plote Construction, Inc. of Hoffman Estates, Illinois for the Kirk Road at Douglas Road Traffic Signal Installation, Reconstruction, and Resurfacing Project, Kane County Section No. 24-00377-01-CH

WHEREAS, the Kane County Division of Transportation has solicited and received bids for the work described as:
KANE COUNTY SECTION NO. 24-00377-01-CH
KIRK ROAD AT DOUGLAS ROAD TRAFFIC SIGNAL, RECONSTRUCTION, AND RESURFACING
(hereinafter the “Project”)
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder for the Project is:
PLOTE CONSTRUCTION, INC. OF HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILLINOIS
With a low bid of
$1,561,106.25
WHEREAS, the County deems it prudent to include in its estimated Project cost a Ten Percent (10%) contingency amounting to One Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand One Hundred Ten and 63/100 Dollars ($156,110.63) to cover any unforeseen added costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that a contract for the Project described hereinabove shall be awarded to the lowest bidder, Plote Construction, Inc. of Hoffman Estates, Illinois in the amount as indicated hereinabove and that the County Board Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract and contractor’s bond therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that there is hereby appropriated One Million Seven Hundred Seventeen Thousand Two Hundred Sixteen and 88/100 Dollars ($1,717,216.88) from Transportation Sales Tax Fund #305, Line Item #73000 (Road Construction) to pay for the Project.
