Authorizing Renewal of Contract for Benefit Administration Services

WHEREAS, Kane County issued request for proposal #40-020, Human Resources Benefits Administration to administrate a comprehensive benefits technology that covers Kane County and its affiliates for all employees;
WHEREAS, Benefits administration is the process of enrollment, administration, managing benefits for employees, dependent eligibility, employee portal and support; and
WHEREAS, the RFP review committee selected three (3) vendors to provide a presentation for consideration. After hearing the presentations and receiving additional and supplemental answers the review committee is recommending Hodges-Mace (Alight) be secured as the Benefit Administration System of choice; and
WHEREAS, the contract calls for the use of funds beyond the current budget year and the County of Kane acknowledges the necessity of the appropriation of such funds; and
WHEREAS, Kane County code section 2-216 provides that the purchase of computer software, computer hardware, and computer databases that have been competitively procured and that require additional proprietary licensing, software integrations, software development, software maintenance, computer hardware maintenance, database maintenance, software support services, database support services and computer hardware support services are not suitable for competitive procurement and may be authorized for purchase. Purchases over thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) must be authorized by the County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized and directed to continue the contract with Hodges-Mace (Alight) in an amount not to exceed One Hundred and Sixty Thousand Dollars ($160,000) per fiscal year for the duration of the Benefit Administration Services.
