Authorizing a Resolution to Execute an Agreement Between the County of Kane and La Voz De Esperanza in the Amount of $65,000.00 to Support Organizational Development to Serve Families in Kane County

WHEREAS, the Kane County Board approved a grant in the amount of $150,000 to the Health Department from the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation to develop and provide initial financial support to launch an organization that meets the State of Illinois definition for a Family Run Organization to serve the needs of families struggling with behavioral health issues; and
WHEREAS, Kane County Health Department worked with families in Kane County to develop an organization that became La Voz de Esperanza “The Voice of Hope”, which is now an Illinois not-for-profit corporation in good standing, that provides community-based services supporting families residing in Kane County; and
WHEREAS, the Health Department has received private foundation funds to utilize for establishing La Voz, it now intends to pass through grant funding to the organization to be utilized in accordance with grant requirements and the Health Department will ensure compliance with grant terms; and
WHEREAS, the Health Department desires to enter into an agreement with La Voz and provide Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00) for operational, contractual, and/or personnel expenses related to the provision of family support services within Kane County during the term specified in the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, these funds have been budgeted in the Health Department’s Budget for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board hereby approves and authorizes the Kane County Board Chair, or Executive Director of the Kane County Health Department, to sign an agreement between the Kane County Health Department and La Voz de Esperanza to provide funds in the amount of Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars ($65,000.00).
