Authorizing Acceptance of the National Association of County & City Health Officials Infection Prevention & Control Learning Collaborative Project Grant (IPC-LCP)

WHEREAS, the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) in partnership with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Project Firstline, a comprehensive infection control program designed to help prevent the spread of infectious disease in U.S. healthcare settings through promotion of infection prevention and control (IPC) practices. Project Firstline is a collaborative committed to preparing the public health workforce and frontline healthcare workers to protect themselves, their patients, and their communities from infectious disease threats; and

 

WHEREAS, the focus of NACCHO's IPC Learning Collaborative is to build the capacity of Local Health Departments (LHD) to deliver IPC training and education to healthcare facility partners in their community. To support these efforts and support LHDs in providing training to healthcare facility staff, NACCHO is pleased to offer the IPC Learning Collaborative to provide technical assistance, mentorship, and funding for LHDs to learn IPC fundamentals and adult learning principles; and

 

WHEREAS, grant funding from the National Association of County & City Health Officials for the Infection Prevention & Control Learning Collaborative Project (IPC-LCP) has been awarded to the Health Department in the amount of Eighty thousand dollars ($80,000.00); and

 

WHEREAS, the Kane County Health Department will use the IPC-LCP grant funding for two Disease Surveillance Practitioner positions to carry out the Infection Prevention & Control Learning Collaborative Project activities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Infection Prevention & Control Learning Collaborative Project Grant is to build capacity to train clinical and non-clinical health care facility staff on IPC basics and best practices; so

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Chairman thereof is hereby authorized to enter into said grant agreement with the National Association of County & City Health Officials.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the Health Department is authorized to hire two Disease Surveillance Practitioner positions.

 

 

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kane County Board that the following adjustment to the Fiscal Year 2024 budget is hereby authorized:
